Dr. Scott completed his undergraduate studies at Auburn University, receiving his Bachelor of Sciences with a double major in Chemistry and Biology. He then graduated from the University of Alabama, School of Medicine in Birmingham. He completed his residency training at Carraway Methodist Medical Center Family Medicine Program where he was Chief Resident. During his career he has practiced a variety of disciplines and specialties, including the LifeSaver Helicopter Emergency and Rescue Service, Carraway Methodist Medical Center’s Level I Trauma Center and Emergency Department, and in private practice with St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham.
Dr. Scott served as the Medical Director at Cebert Pharmaceuticals where he oversaw regulatory, DEA and FDA issues regarding addiction and pain treatments. In 2002, he received his training, registry and certification as a Medical Review Officer by the American Association of Medical Review Officers, and he is board certified by the American Association of Family Practice.
