Charles Couey, RN, CFRN, NREMT-P

Director of Medical Operations Charles Couey is responsible for the management and training of AirMed’s 24/7/365 medical communications center, clinical coordinators, and the clinical flight department which includes doctors, registered nurses, and respiratory therapists at AirMed’s Birmingham, Hawaii and Hong Kong base operations.

Charlie is an experienced, safety oriented executive and healthcare provider who has held roles as a clinician in the emergency department, ICU, and Flight Nurse/Paramedic as well as management and executive roles. His experience as a clinician and administrator will allow him to bring new and creative leadership to AirMed. He previously worked as director of clinical services, clinical education and outreach for Omniflight Helicopters. Mr Couey is an experienced instructor in BLS, PALS, ACLS, and numerous other advanced training courses as well as course director and faculty in these certifications.
