When AirMed International receives a call for help, Denise Treadwell springs into action. As the company’s Executive Vice President, she is responsible for managing daily operations of the company and its multiple subsidiaries and locations. This includes responsibility for more than 200 employees and primary company departments including administration, communications, marketing and sales.
But Denise Treadwell is no desk jockey. She has personally flown hundreds of missions to six continents, including transports from the North Pole, Russia, Saudi Arabia, India, South Africa, China, New Zealand, Fiji, Europe and South America, just to name a few.
Her exemplary service as a trauma nurse on air transports has earned Ms. Treadwell a national reputation for patient care excellence, a place on the board of the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association, as well, providing certification instruction for health care professionals through the American Heart Association, Emergency Nursing Association, and Air & Surface Transport Nurse Association for: Basic Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Cardiac Life Support, Basic Trauma Life Support, Trauma Nurse Core Course, Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, and Certified Flight Registered Nurse.
Ms. Treadwell holds a Master’s Degree in Trauma Nursing, a Masters in Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is a certified Nurse Practitioner. She was the first Nurse Practitioner to hold a staff-contract position in an Emergency Department in the state of Alabama.
As an editor, Treadwell lent her expertise to the book “Standards for Critical Care and Specialty Fixed-Wing Transport.” She was also a contributing author for the publication Air & Surface Patient Transport, Practice and Principles. This 2002 publication serves as the accepted standard in the field of air medical transport care. In other words, she helped "write the book" for the industry in which she serves.
