Accreditation
AirMed International is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS), the European Aero-Medical Institute (EURAMI), and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). These strict accreditation standards ensure the utmost safety, covering every part of the AirMed operation from patient medical care to aircraft certifications.
CAMTS and EURAMI
CAMTS is the only accreditation agency to offer worldwide standards for ground, helicopter and fixed-wing medical transport systems. The voluntary review process covers every aspect of the AirMed operation from patient medical care to aircraft safety. The prestigious CAMTS accreditation is required for air ambulance companies used by the United States Department of Defense, leading international medical centers, and some travel insurance and assistance companies. EURAMI is a Stuttgart, Germany, based non-profit association of air medical professionals and operators from 27 countries in and outside Europe. The association aims to promote air rescue and to develop and harmonize quality standards and to improve patient care and safety in air medical transports. AirMed is among the very few worldwide programs to hold full accreditation from both CAMTS and EURAMI.
Department of Defense (DoD)
AirMed International has met the requirements set forth by the United States Department of Defense Commercial Airlift Review Board as part of the DoD Air Transport Program. This process consists on-site inspection by the DoD Air Carrier Survey and Analysis Office to determine AirMed International meets the DoD Commercial Air Carrier Quality and Safety Standards. Air carriers in the DoD program are audited and inspected on an ongoing basis to assure the high DoD standards are maintained.
FAA
AirMed’s air carrier certificate (MDGA382G) is for worldwide operation, and the company has received global FAA authority.
NAACS Certification
NAACS Certification AirMed International requires that all Medical Communications Center Representatives obtain their Certified Flight Communicator Certification from the National Association of Air Medical Communication Specialists (NAACS) . The CFC certification consist of classroom training and covers topics such as flight following, navigation, map reading skills, aviation weather, post-accident/incident procedures, public relations, stress management, and medical terminology. It is the vision of NAACS to enhance the professionalism of the Air Medical Communications Specialists through education, recognition, and standardization. We believe in the value that is added by our staff by obtaining the CFC certification in the terms of safety, knowledge, and professionalism.
