Risk Assessment

Risk assessments are conducted at every stage of air medical transport:

  • A pre-scheduling assessment is completed to review any safety risks that may arise.
  • Once the scheduling is done, an additional assessment is done to rule out any risks associated with the operations, environment or patient’s condition.
  • The pilot considers the weather, airport, equipment and human factors to complete his flight risk assessment.
  • The medical crew then looks at the patient’s condition, human factors and weather to complete their medial risk assessment.

Our medical teams also hold board certifications in CFRN (Certified Flight Registered Nurse) or CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) We are proud to have this as one of AirMed’s standards to provide the highest clinical care.
